Dux College is offering short holiday courses in January for Year 12 HSC students for the following subjects: Click the above links for more details on each subject (including what topics are covered). |

| About the courses Each course gives you a thorough review for what they've learned in Term 4 of 2009, and also an in-depth and comprehensive coverage of topics encountered in Term 1 and 2 in 2010. Unlike some holiday courses offered by our competitors, we do not simply sit you in a lecture hall with hundreds of students and listen to someone speak for 3 hours. Our classes are small, fun, and most importantly, INTERACTIVE. You will be given plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and the classes are fun and lively. Our classes are also very hands-on and skills-focused. That is, we focus on building a solid foundation in the skills and methodologies used in each subject, early on in the HSC year, so you will continue to reap the benefits up until your final exams. For example, we will go through how to do different types of calculations, as well as give you the most useful / practical shortcuts for each method. Our teachers are excellent in explaining complex concepts in a way that is easy to understand - and making you truly understand underlying concepts instead of memorising is what we are all about. We will also be going through exam technique, exam-relevant tips and tricks, calculation shortcuts, answer structuring and other skills you need to score full marks. These courses will give students a significant advantage when your Term 2 assessments come next year, and is excellent preparation for the rest of the HSC year! Course notes We will provide detailed notes for each subject. Our notes are comprehensive and unparalled in terms of quality. In each subject, you will receive a massive booklet summarising the topics covered in the course. Each booklet will contain detailed theory, as well as demonstrative Worked Examples. Our notes are already very complete, so you can take as much or as little of your own notes as you want! You won't need to spend precious weeks or months compiling summary notes, as we do them for you! Unlike some of our competitors, you won't just be going through what is already written down in the materials provided. Our teachers will focus more on the common areas students have difficulty with, and since our classes are small, you will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Course structure Each course will be split into 2 Parts over 2 days. Each Part will be 4 hours long (don't worry, there will be a short break). For Chemistry and Physics, the first 2 core modules will be covered in syllabus order, and the main points of the last core module will be discussed in Part 2. For all mathematics, we will cover the HARDER topics that students often do not get enough support in from school teachers. This will serve you well when your half-yearly, trial and HSC exams come.
