Our Year 9 Headstart English aims to build a strong foundation in textual analysis skills, writing skills and good study habits in students early in their studies, for the benefit of English in subsequent years. Students get early exposure to the literature and critical thinking required of them in later years at a year 9 level (stage 5 syllabus), ensuring their learning contributes to their familiarity and confidence when senior English is studied.
The earlier students start taking their study seriously, the better their results will be at the end of year 12, and our year 9 English course is designed with the HSC in mind.
